What to do in Sabandia Natural Park?

How to get to Sabandia Natural Park?

To get there by car from Arequipa you should choose one of the avenues that lead to Caracas Street, which can be Avenida Pizarro, Avenida Dolores or Avenida Peru. Once in Caracas you will cross the Socabaya River and then take Alamos Street, which leads to the ecopark.

The buses that take you to Sabandia should be taken on Avenida Goyeneche and if you want to go by cab, you will be charged between 8 and 10 soles from the historic center.

If you want to walk you can also do it, but keep in mind that the journey is about 8 kilometers and it will take you about two hours to reach your destination.

There are also tourist bus tours that leave from the Plaza de Armas to Sabandia that include the round trip and guide service.

Recommendations:

Park hours. The Park is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm.

Sabandia Mill Schedule. It can be visited from Monday to Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., including holidays. Admission is 10 soles for adults and 5 soles for school children and senior citizens.

Recommended length of stay. Going to Sabandía Natural Park is a good plan to spend a full day of fresh air and natural environment. Do not hesitate to go early in the morning and take advantage of a sunny day of rest and recreation.

What to bring? In a sector of the park there are grills, so a good option is to bring food to cook a good lunch there. Don’t forget to bring sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat or cap. It is also advisable to have cash in case you wish to rent a horse or buy drinks.
