Is definitely worth the effort if you are interested in the pre-Columbian cultures and civilizations that were being developed at about the same time as the pyramids of Egypt were being built.
The place is amazing: The oldest human dwelling in America, 10,000 years old makes it contemporary to pharaohs. So, strongly reccommended but extra care needed
Caral was really interesting; you could see archeologist working every where, a lot has been done already but the guide himself told us to come back in 30 years to see what will have changed…
The site is beautiful and very clean. And the model of the development is respectful to the site and the town of Caral, which has been included in the development plan.
I finally had the opportunity to visit Caral in 2022. But I had high expectations for this place because most people who visit and do not visit say that Machu Picchu is much more impressive, but Caral has more history that is very important for human history
