Seguramente ainda há muito a descobrir sobre civilizações antigas. Caral, no Peru, está bem perto de nós brasileiros e traz ruínas de 5000 anos. A cidade foi habitada continuamente entre os anos 3000 e 1800 a.C, quando, devido a mudanças climáticas (provavelmente) foi abandonada.

O lugar impressiona, mas, é feito para gente que gosta de explorações arqueológicas, história, geografia, antropologia, culturas em geral. As ruínas já eram conhecidas no início do século XX, mas, só no início dos anos 1990 foram oficialmente “descobertas” e começaram os trabalhos de escavação.

Conjunto de pirâmides, Sol e Lua são as principais, ainda tem escavações com achados importantes. Entre elas havia ruas e um sistema hidráulico de tirar o chapéu. Podiam esconder-se durante meses sem precisar de água.

O sítio arqueológico de Caral foi uma grande surpresa. Seis pirâmides, moradias e espaços rituais formam um conjunto significativo de uma civilização pré cerâmica que viveu numa época entre a sociedade mesopotâmica e a sociedade egípcia, há 5000 anos.
