Day 1: Oxapampa

  • At 8:00 am: We will pick you up at your hotel and depart to the province of Oxampampa.
  • 8.30 am: We will arrive at the Mezapata viewpoint, from where we can see the Paucartambo canyon, the natural border between the regions of Junín and Pasco.
  • 9.30 am: Afterwards, we will continue to our first destination, but not before making a stop at an artisan mill.
  • 10.30 am: We arrive in Chontabamba to visit its beautiful wooden church, built by the Austro-German settlers.
  • 12.00 pm Afterwards, we will return to the bus to approach the Tunqui Cave.
  • 3.30 pm: In the afternoon we will arrive in Oxapampa, where we will enjoy a guided tour of its main points: The Main Square, the Colonists’ promenade and the Santa Rosa Church, a beautiful wooden construction of European influence.
  • 6.30 pm: We will finish the tour spending the night in Oxapampa.

Day 2: Pozuzo

  • 7.00 am: We will pick you up from the hotel and we will start our trip. We will cross the Yanachanga Chemillen National Park and see from the vehicle the impressive waterfalls of Rayantambo and Yulitunqui, formed by waterfalls of the Tunqui River.

    We will then arrive in Pozuzo. Did you know that it was the first Austro-German colony established in Peru in the mid-19th century? We will tour its European-style wooden churches, and pass by other equally representative constructions, such as the Emperor Wilhelm I Bridge or the Schafferer Museum, which reviews the history of European immigrants in Peru.

    We will also see the monument to Father Joseph Egg, the parish priest from Tyrol who accompanied the settlers. Before returning to San Ramon, we will end our 2-day tour with a splendid panoramic view of the Oxapampa landscape. We will arrive at your hotel in San Ramon in the evening.
