DAY 1 Colca Full Day Tour
FULL DAY in the Colca Canyon
- 3:30 am Pick up from the hotel and departure to Chivay through the area of YURA, passing by the quarries of sillar (volcanic stone) with which the city was built, we enter the National Reserve of Salinas and Aguada Blanca (Pampa Cañahuas), we pass the area called Patahuasi,
- Vizcachani is our next stop, named after the presence of vizcachas, to then begin to see the town of Tocqra where we will observe various groups of llamas and alpacas that mingle with the bofedales (small lakes formed by thaws) which are home to a diversity of local and migratory birds.
- We will continue to border the crater of the extinct volcano Chicura, reaching the eternal ice of Patapampa to continue for a few more minutes and reach the highest point of Arequipa 4910 mt known as the viewpoint of the Andes (Patapampa) where we will appreciate the various snowy Hualca Hualca, Sabancaya and Ampato, in turn we will also appreciate the Yareta plant that grows over 4000 MT high.
- Then we will continue to the town of Chivay at 3400 meters above sea level where we will have breakfast and a short rest.
- 06:30 a.m. Departure to the Cruz del Condor viewpoint, a natural viewpoint where we will be able to contemplate the king of the heights of the Andes, the condor. During the tour we will observe the beautiful canyon terraces that blend with the vegetation and the typical characters of the area.
- During the return to Chivay we will have some stops in the most outstanding points of the area as the Mysterious Lagoons of Altahuilque, Litó model of Choquetico, Hanging Tombs of Choquetico,
- To enter the traditional village of Maca where we will visit the Church of Santa Ana de Maca, one of the most beautiful in the valley, where we can shop for souvenirs and take pictures with the animals of the area.
- Yanque is the last town that we will visit, where the most representative characters of the local cultures and of the Spanish Era lived.
- 12:30 p.m. We will return to the town of Chivay for lunch, visit the thermal medicinal baths of La Calera and return to the city of Arequipa.
- 05:00 p.m. Arrival to the city of Arequipa.

Wir haben eine gute Erfahrung gemacht! Es gab viel zu sehen. Spannend vom Anfang bis zum Schluss. Der Guide wusste sehr gut wovon er spricht und konnte alle unsere Fragen beantworten. Die Fahrt war auch angenehm. Sehr empfehlenswert um den Colca Canyon kennenzulernen.
Wir hatten eine super Tagestour in den Colca Canyon. Neben der atemberaubenden Natur und den vielen lamas, Alapakas und Eseln die wir gesehen haben, war unser Tour-Guide super. Er hat uns auf dem Weg viele Hintergründe erklären können und kannte sich gut aus. Obwohl wir die einzigen TN ohne spanischkenntnisse waren, ist er nicht müde geworden, alles ausführlich zu erklären.
Es waren zwar einige weitere Touristenbusse unterwegs aber es war zum Glück nicht allzu Touristisch. Der gute Guide hat dafür einen wichtigen Beitrag geleistet
Ein Ausflug, der sich lohnt
Très bonne expérience !
Journée très fatiguante mais qui en vaut la peine ! Notre guide était très professionnel et sympa. Le conducteur du bus également.
Prise en charge dans notre hotel à 03h15 du matin, puis direction Colca. Beaucoup d’arrêts ne sont pas mentionnés dans l’annonce mais étaient vraiment bien. On a pu faire de très belles photos de notre voyage.
Plusieurs arrêts se sont effectués au Canyon de Colca, on a pu observer des condors, c’était incroyable.
Des activités ont été proposées (lors de l’arrêt aux bains chauds, on a 1h pour faire une autre activité que celle-ci comme du kayak).
On était de retour à Arequipa à 17H00 environ.
Le bus nous dépose près de la place centrale au retour et non pas à l’hôtel.
Prévoir une veste chaude pour le matin et pour l’arrêt aux volcans.
