We took a tour of this place called Caral, it was amazing to know that the oldest civilization in South America was in Lima, we couldn’t imagine it, we had a great guide and a wonderful time in this place, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

t will never look “postcard” like 400 year old Machu Picchu but that didn’t detract from the amazing work that this culture performed. It’s in a dusty desert area and be prepared to walk a bit to visit it as it’s scattered over a bit of distance.
It is interesting and important to see. True, there are no magnificent buildings (like Machu Picchu), and keep in mind that it is basically an open archaeological site, but it is worth a visit.
It’s sad that so many tourists come to Peru to visit Machu Micchu and leave, often never to return again, without any realization of how much more Peru has to offer. This quite incredible site comes from the Norte Chico civilization of 2600 BCE
