- 6:30 AM. Pick up from hotel or bus terminal in Ica.
- 7:45 AM. Transfer to the tourist pier.
- 8:00 AM. Beginning of the maritime tour to the Ballestas Islands: We will visit the geoglyph “El Candelabro”, the rock formations that make up the Ballestas Islands and the sea lion maternities.
- We will be able to see a great diversity of birds such as the Humboldt penguin, boobies, waders, pelicans, guanayes, red-crested gallinules and many more.
- 10:00 AM. Return to the tourist pier.
- Free time for personal activities: have breakfast, buy handicrafts or take pictures.
- 11:00 AM. Land tour to the Paracas National Reserve: We will visit the ruins of the rock formation “La Catedral”, Playa Supay, Playa Roja and Playa Lagunillas.
- 4:00 PM. Our tour ends.
Tour Reviews
We were picked up timely via private car from Huacachina to Paracas. Our tour guide kindly stored our luggage away and took us to the port for the group tour to Ballastas Islands which was wonderful. We were then dropped off at our hotel in Paracas and later picked up for the private dune buggy tour of the Paracas Reserve which was stunning. We had a wonderful time and would recommend Las Adventure.
My husband and I arrived by bus from Ica and ran into Wilmer at the bus station. After checking out the company at our hotel, we called Wilmer to book a tour the next morning at 8am. He picked us up at our hotel, boarding was orderly, a life jacket was waiting at each seat, the bilingual guide spoke excellent English, we were given lots of time to take pictures, the driver turned the boat around when possible so that both sides could get a close-up view and the guide pointed out animals that we might have missed. She also walked down the aisle to answer questions or take pictures. Great experience!
Tip: It can be somewhat chilly out on the water – take a windbreaker. The 8:00 tour is best with smooth water and fewer people.

We experieced the Baallestas Islands as well as the red beach and we had a fantastic time with good guids

This tour was a great opportunity to see penguins, sealions and hundreds of birds just offshore in a couple of hours. I loved seeing the ‘seal hospital’ with newborn seals and their parents on the beach. The driver was able to bring the boat very close to the islands. Our tour guide Jose was spectacular as he spoke English, Spanish, French, and Italian. He has a good sense of humour and gave a great explanation. This trip is great value for the time and money you will spend.
The tour guides were enthusiastic and knowledgeable, and the tour itself was organised efficiently.
Worth mentioning that there is a 45min gap between the Ballestas Islands tour and that of the national park, where you come back to Paracas and can get a coffee or early lunch.
