Itinerary Ascent to Misti Volcano 2 days / 1 night South Route
Day 1: Arequipa – Chiguata – Misti
This exciting adventure begins between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m., with the pick up from your hotel in Arequipa (White City), we will board our private 4×4 vehicle and drive along the tourist route of Chiguata, 1 hour and a half of travel in the vehicle, until we reach the point where our hike will begin, located at 3300 meters above sea level.
We will begin the trekking ascending slowly for approximately 5 to 6 hours, this route has a spectacular landscape, with terraces and traditional houses made of stone. Finally we will arrive at the base camp, where we will have lunch and dinner at the same time, around 4:00pm, while our guide tells us about his experiences, and tells us stories of the volcano, we will have to go to bed early to prepare our body for the next day.
Day 2: View of the crater – Misti – Arequipa
We will wake up in the early morning at 2:00am, have a comforting breakfast and start our hike to the summit for 5 or 6 hours until we reach 5825masl, where the crater of the volcano is located, we will observe its large fumaroles up close, while we appreciate the impressive landscape from the top, the surrounding valleys and the city of Arequipa. We will take lots of pictures and it will be time to start our return trip.
We will descend to the base camp for an hour and a half, pack up and continue descending to the point where our transportation will be waiting for us to take us to the city of Arequipa arriving around 2:00 in the afternoon.

Es como un guardián que te persigue, que te cuida, que te recuerda su presencia a cada momento. En esta oportunidad tenía un poco de nieve, pero siempre imponente el volcan.
Su nombre significa “Señor”. Este volcán es imponente, precioso desde donde lo veas.
Nosotros no tuvimos la suerte de verlo con mucha nieve pero aún así nos encantó!
El solo llegar a Arequipa ya lo ves digno de una postal y más en este mes patrio, soy límeña pero he visitado Arequipa en muchísimas oportunidades pero muchos años atras y no es lo mismo verlo de continuo como algo natural.
En esta oportunidad fui con dos parejas de amigos y amigas extranjeros los cuales quedaron maravillados con su imponente prestancia y majestuosidad tanto así que decidieron escalarlo un poco, a lo cual si no los acompañe pero si lo vi con otros ojos y en verdad es hermoso nuestro volcan.
